- The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo became the country's deadliest on Monday, with 2,325 deaths among 4,945 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization.
- WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned last week the virus is "moving faster than any previous Ebola outbreak," as the disease expanded to 54 health zones across six provinces including Ituri Province.
- The United Nations reported a 46 percent case fatality rate with 730 patients currently isolated or hospitalized. The WHO recorded at least 155 infections among health care workers, including 45 deaths.
- Travelers who have been in the DRC within 21 days face restricted entry to the United States, which continues enforcing 30-day orders requiring screening for all returning citizens and nationals.
