Woman accusing ex-world snooker champ of child sex abuse denies saying 'I'm going to be rich'
The witness said Dott used gifts and cash to reward abuse, while the ex-world champion denies two charges spanning 1993 to 2010.
At Glasgow's High Court, a man in his 20s testified that former snooker champion Dott molested him as a child between 1993 and 2010, with the ongoing trial addressing two charges of lewd and libidinous behaviour.
Incidents occurred "six, maybe seven times," according to the witness, who described being molested in the shower and groped while playing online poker at a South Lanarkshire home when he was around eight.
Witness testimony included a £50 "reward strategy" and claims that Dove soap and Thai chilli crisps now trigger PTSD "flashbacks" connected to the alleged abuse. These sensory associations persist to the present day.
Defense advocate Euan Dow challenged the financial account, arguing Dott "does not accept" the abuse allegations and contending the witness could have provided the "real reason" for the money if accused of stealing.
Proceedings before Lord Harrower continue as the court examines the alleged incidents, which reportedly ceased in 2010. The trial will further test the credibility of both the witness account and defense denials.
