Gambone Scores Late Goal in the Legacy’s 2-1 Victory over the Royals

On Friday night in Sandy, Utah, Boston Legacy forward Aleigh Gambone scored a diving header in the 86th minute, lifting the team to a 2-1 road victory over the Utah Royals.
The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for Boston, which had allowed 15 goals during that stretch, while Utah entered the match tied for the NWSL lead with 40 goals.
Boston forward Aïssata Traoré opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but Kiana Palacios equalized seven minutes later off a long ball from goalkeeper Mandy McGlynn.
Goalkeeper Laurel Ivory made two saves in her second consecutive start, helping secure the franchise's second road victory in its history.
With seven matches remaining in the season, the Legacy travel to face the Washington Spirit on Sunday, Sept. 13.
