Stefano admitted intentional strangulation and actual bodily harm after a violent attack that left the victim with injuries and a six-year restraining order.
On Tuesday, Charlie Stefano was sentenced to two years and 10 months in prison at Maidstone Crown Court after pleading guilty to intentional strangulation and causing actual bodily harm.
During the February 13 attack in Chatham, Stefano grabbed the victim by the throat twice, dragged her across the floor, held her over a staircase, and snapped her phone in half.
After the victim fled to a petrol station, police tracked down the 35-year-old, of Horse Bridge Road, Dagenham, and arrested him later that same day.
The court also issued a six-year restraining order against Stefano, while two additional charges of criminal damage and coercive and controlling behavior were ordered to lie on file.
Detective Sergeant Leighton Prior commended the victim's courage, stating, "I would like to commend her courage in supporting his prosecution and ensuring a man who is a clear danger to women is now behind bars.
