People with a low income can receive a subsidy of 4,000 or 6,000 euros if they buy a second-hand electric car. This is the intention of State Secretary Annet Bertram (CDA), who is responsible for sustainable transport. The Cabinet has made 52.4 million euros available for the scheme.
We have a small gap in the market for second-hand electric cars. Three to five-year-old ex-lease vehicles are still just a bit too expensive on the second-hand market for most Dutch people.
