Local Volunteer Selected to Represent UK at World Scout Jamboree
Tony Tunnell is among 600 UK volunteers selected to help run activities and cultural exchanges at the 2027 World Scout Jamboree.
Tony Tunnell from Chichester has been selected for the International Service Team at the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk, where he will support the event's operations.
Held every four years, the World Scout Jamboree brings together more than 50,000 young people aged 14 to 17 from nearly every country for a celebration of global friendship and cultural exchange.
The International Team is sending 600 volunteers to Gdansk to support outdoor activities, cultural exchanges, and large-scale events celebrating the diversity of global Scouting.
Chief Scout Dwayne Fields congratulated the volunteers, saying "Opportunities like this are what Scouting is all about, bringing people together and showing young people what's possible."
Tunnell, who previously attended the Jamboree, noted "This role makes a big impact and seeing what the young people get out of it is brilliant, but they also push me out of my comfort zone.
