San Sebastian Loses Tourists This Summer, but They Increase in the Surrounding Area.

San Sebastián appears to be gradually reaching its peak as a tourist destination, while an increasing number of visitors are choosing to stay in other municipalities within the province. This is evident, at least, from data published by the Basque Institute of Statistics (Eustat) for the month of July, which shows that hotel occupancy increased by 7.1% in Gipuzkoa, but fell by 1.9% in the city of San Sebastián.
