Irish Boxer Lee Reeves Hospitalised After Brutal Knockout at 3Arena
Queensberry Promotions said Reeves remained in hospital overnight after a 10th-round stoppage and that his condition was critical but stable.
On Saturday, Lee Reeves was rushed to the hospital following a knockout loss to Gary Cully at Dublin's 3Arena, where Cully halted the 31-year-old 53 seconds into the tenth round of their BUI Celtic title contest.
Medical personnel treated Reeves in the ring before stretchering him into an ambulance; Queensberry Promotions confirmed he remains in a "stable but critical condition."
Gary Cully expressed concern for his opponent after the fight, stating, "My prayers and thoughts are with Lee Reeves, hopefully he's OK," while praising the Roxboro native's performance.
Promoter Frank Warren joined the boxing community in sending well wishes, as Queensberry Promotions stated, "All our thoughts and prayers are with Lee Reeves and his family at this time."
The fight occurred on the Pierce O'Leary versus Mark Chamberlain undercard, where Chamberlain stopped O'Leary and said, "I take my hat off to Pierce because he's a true champion and he'll come again.
