Greta Gerwig's Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew Unveils Logo, IMAX Preview Details
Netflix shared the first logo and on-set photo as Greta Gerwig adapts C.S. Lewis’s Narnia prequel for IMAX, theaters and streaming.
On Wednesday, Netflix unveiled the logo and first on-set photograph for filmmaker Greta Gerwig's Narnia: The Magician's Nephew, showcasing the production ahead of its 2027 release.
Filmmaker Gerwig is writing, directing, and producing the adaptation of the C.S. Lewis prequel, which follows young characters Digory Kirke and Polly Plummer discovering the origin of Narnia.
Featuring a star-studded cast including Daniel Craig, Meryl Streep, and Emma Mackey, the highly anticipated production has officially wrapped filming. "I fell in love with the gorgeously improbable but completely brilliant concept of a cosmic lion singing the world of Narnia to life," Gerwig told Netflix's Tudum.
Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle international distribution, while the film releases theatrically in North America on February 12, 2027, with IMAX previews beginning two days earlier.
Dropping 'The Chronicles of' from the franchise title, the project will debut on Netflix on April 2, 2027, positioning it as one of the streaming service's rare theatrical releases.
