Man dies after getting into difficulty swimming off Devon coast
HM Coastguard sent a helicopter, two rescue teams and two lifeboats after the swimmer got into difficulty, and police said the death is not suspicious.
A man in his 40s from Surrey died after getting into difficulty swimming off Blackpool Sands, Strete, Devon on August 24.
Emergency services, including HM Coastguard and paramedics, responded and treated the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Devon and Cornwall Police stated the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
The RNLI has shared water safety advice following recent drowning deaths in the area, emphasizing staying calm and swimming in designated areas.
