Suspect in court charged with murder after death of man found unresponsive in Dundonald street
Police say the 57-year-old’s death is being treated as murder after a post-mortem, and a 36-year-old man has been charged.
On Sunday, August 23, 2026, emergency services found 57-year-old Graham Milliken unresponsive on Main Street in Dundonald, South Ayrshire. He was transported to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock, where police launched a murder investigation.
Following a post-mortem examination, Police Scotland confirmed the death is being treated as murder. Detectives are checking CCTV footage and interviewing local residents to establish the circumstances surrounding Milliken's death.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death. He is scheduled to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Tuesday, August 25.
Detective Inspector Jamie Carruth said officers seek anyone with "dash-cam or doorbell footage, or anyone who may have heard a disturbance in the area that night." Public assistance is critical to establishing what occurred.
