How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor Reveals Where He Stands With Costars in Candid Update
Radnor says the cast drifted after nine seasons together, though he still crosses paths with former co-stars from time to time.
On Sunday, actor Josh Radnor clarified his relationship with his How I Met Your Mother castmates on the Half the Picture podcast, revealing they are "not even a little bit" close anymore.
Radnor compared the cast's dynamic to college, where an intense, daily professional bond naturally disperses once production ends. "And then it just disperses and you just go out and live your life," he explained.
While maintaining sporadic contact, Radnor hosts Neil Patrick Harris and Cobie Smulders on his podcast and texts Jason Segel occasionally; he last saw Alyson Hannigan at his 2024 wedding.
Radnor clarified there was no dramatic falling out, explaining their connection feels "more like family than friends" where deep bonds exist but remain inactive.
Moving beyond his character Ted Mosby, Radnor now views the sitcom as a significant chapter of his autobiography rather than an "identity prison," allowing him to reflect with affection.
For nine seasons, Josh Radnor and his colleagues made »How I Met Your Mother«. Although they spent so much time together for years: nowadays there are hardly any connections between the co-stars anymore, says Radnor now.
