Shia LaBeouf Says He Drinks Every Day in Court Docs Filed After Mardi Gras Arrest
Court records say the actor self-reported daily drinking while on two years' probation and ordered treatment after a New Orleans bar fight.
In new court documents, actor Shia LaBeouf reported that he drinks alcohol daily, months after pleading guilty to misdemeanor battery charges stemming from a February arrest in New Orleans.
LaBeouf was arrested on February 17 in the Marigny neighborhood after punching two men and head-butting a third at a bar during Mardi Gras celebrations.
Video of the encounter showed him shoving one person to the ground and striking another, with a police report noting the blow was "causing his nose to possibly dislocate."
Per court records, LaBeouf has remained compliant with his probation supervisor and provided proof he will complete anger management and substance abuse treatment by next month.
LaBeouf could face six months in jail if he fails probation; a hearing is scheduled for September 23, though he will not attend due to filming commitments.
