Is There a Rift Between Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel? Patriots Quarterback, Coach Respond to Radio Report.
- On Wednesday, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel denied reports of a rift with quarterback Drake Maye, dismissing rumors he attributed to unnamed sources during his news conference.
- WEEI radio host Greg Hill sparked the controversy, claiming an 'insider' whispered about an issue between coach and quarterback following the team's 1-2 start and a 35-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- Vrabel defended his commitment to Maye, noting he specifically chose to coach the Patriots because of the quarterback's potential despite Maye recording 585 yards, one touchdown, and six interceptions through three games.
- The team faces a critical matchup against the Buffalo Bills this Sunday at Highmark Stadium, where New England needs a win to reach.500 and potentially quiet offensive concerns.
- Addressing the team's struggles, Vrabel likened their path to the biblical story of David and Goliath, insisting the group must fight through current adversity to reach their ultimate goals.
