Bills Linebacker Joe Andreesen Signs 2-Year Contract to Extend Stay with Hometown Team
Joe Andreessen, 26, has been a key special-teams contributor and depth option for three seasons, the Bills said.
On Saturday, the Buffalo Bills signed linebacker Joe Andreessen to a two-year, $5 million extension, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported. The deal includes $3 million guaranteed.
A Buffalo native from the suburb of Lancaster, Andreessen joined the team as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Former head coach Sean McDermott called his journey a "heartwarming story."
The 26-year-old has established himself as a key special teams player, appearing in 33 career games with three starts. He provides depth coverage for Dorian Williams and Terrel Bernard.
Buffalo retains this depth piece for $2.5 million over the next two years, securing roster stability. The extension provides injury insurance should either starter go down.
The 3-0 Bills host AFC East rival New England Patriots on Sunday with Andreessen now locked in as a depth option. The extension positions him as part of Buffalo's playoff roster construction.
