Dilapidated Jaipur school where CJP workers were attacked demolished; new building soon
On Wednesday, authorities razed the old Government Primary School building in Rampura, Kanwarpura after the Cockroach Janata Party exposed its unsafe condition last month. "The building has been demolished," an official said.
Following a technical survey in September 2025, the school was declared dilapidated and taken out of use, prompting the CJP to visit Rampura village last month as part of its 'School Thik Karo' campaign.
During the campaign visit, a confrontation erupted between CJP members and villagers, leading to FIRs from both sides. CJP alleged that BJP workers attacked its members, while villagers accused the group of intimidating residents.
Funding for reconstruction totals Rs 18 lakh, with Rs 12 lakh sanctioned from the District Mineral Foundation Trust on August 13 and Rs 6 lakh from the MLA fund. The Rajasthan government announced construction will begin soon.
Demolition clears the site for the new facility, as the structure had remained vacant since being declared unsafe in September 2025. The rebuilt school will serve Rampura residents under the government's infrastructure renewal plan.
