B.C. Touts 250 School Capital Projects Since 2017, with 23 Ready for Coming Year
The province says the projects add 4,700 student seats and include six new schools, 14 additions and three seismic replacements.
On Burnaby Tuesday, Premier David Eby announced the 250th completed capital project since the NDP took office at a new school.
Twenty-Three projects opening this school year include Six new schools and three seismic replacements, reflecting the expansion strategy of the government.
At the newly upgraded Stride Avenue Community Elementary, the facility provides 265 new seats and 415 seismically safer student seats for local enrollment.
These school projects equate to 4,700 student seats, expanding capacity for the current school year through the addition of new infrastructure.
There are 51 school capital projects currently underway, including 13 new schools, 27 additions, and 10 seismic upgrades, ensuring infrastructure development continues to expand.
