Body Found in Burning Vehicle in Victoria
VicPD’s Major Crime Unit is investigating after fire crews extinguished the flames within minutes and police asked witnesses for dashcam footage.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, The Victoria Police Department began investigating a death after a body was discovered inside a burning vehicle on the 700-block of Queens Avenue.
A VicPD officer on their way to work discovered the fire at approximately 7 a.m. and called 911, prompting The Victoria Fire Department to extinguish the flames within minutes.
The Major Crime Unit has maintained a significant presence at the scene, while authorities closed the 700-block of Queens Avenue to traffic and pedestrians, creating detours for commuters.
Investigators are asking drivers who traveled along Douglas Street or Blanshard Street near the Queens Avenue intersection between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. to review and share dashcam footage.
