Bird flu ruled out in Menindee pelican deaths, but cause still a mystery

Investigations are continuing into the deaths of around 400 pelican chicks and juveniles at Kinchega National Park, near the Menindee Lakes, with authorities confirming over the weekend that the birds did not die from H5 bird flu. The mass casualties were discovered on Friday.
