Majority of Antisemitic Social-Media Posts Reported by Jewish Communities Remain Online, Study Finds
The report says platforms removed just 19.5% of formally reported antisemitic posts, while Israel-related content had a 5.2% removal rate.
On Wednesday, a World Jewish Congress study revealed that more than 80% of antisemitic social-media posts reported by European Jewish community members remain online, indicating reporting has little effect on removal.
Conducted by the WJC's Technology and Human Rights Institute , the study analyzed 754 antisemitic posts collected between February 2025 and April 2026, finding that 613 remained accessible in May.
TikTok removed 64% of examined content, far outpacing other major platforms; Facebook recorded a 76% user reporting rate but removed only 13.9% of flagged posts, while Israel-related antisemitism saw the lowest removal rate at 5.2 percent.
"It is up to companies to enforce their policies," said Yfat Barak-Cheney, executive director of TecHRI, warning that inconsistent enforcement allows antisemitic hatred to spread unchecked across platforms.
The WJC urged European regulators to use the Digital Services Act to hold platforms accountable, citing reported content including ISIS propaganda targeting synagogues in the United States and Europe.
