For the first time in the history of the Netherlands, a woman will occupy an episcopal seat in the Vetero-Catholic Church. Erna Peijnenburg, 59, was elected on 29 August 2026 as 19th Bishop of Haarlem. The consecration is scheduled for 10 October.
