Addis Abeba -- The acquittal of two men previously sentenced to life imprisonment for the brutal killing of 32-year-old Zewdu Haftu has reopened one of Tigray's most closely watched cases of gender-based violence, with women's rights and civil society organizations warning that the reversal risks undermining confidence in the region's justice system.
