Ukraine has buried the transferred remains of the nationalist leader, Evhen Konovalez, who was murdered in 1938, as part of a state funeral.
Ukrainian nationalist leader Yevhen Konovalez is posthumously honoured with a state funeral. Ukrainian nationalists are not undisputed, their honors have already caused fierce criticism in the past. Kiev plans further honorable new burials.
In the 1930s, the organization of Ukrainian nationalists took German and Italian fascism as a model. One of their leaders has now been solemnly surrounded with military honours.
Kiev brings home another nationalist buried abroad. With Evhen Konovalez, the first head of the controversial organization of Ukrainian nationalists is also honoured with a state funeral.
