‘I’m Fine’ Text, Body Chopped in 9 Parts, Family Missing: Karnataka Man Found Dead in Sharjah Car

Police are investigating the killing after the victim’s body was found in a car, while his wife and son remain untraceable.

  • A 49-year-old native of Kundapur in Karnataka's Udupi district, Alwin Prakash Kunder was allegedly murdered in Sharjah in July, his brother reported on Tuesday. Investigators discovered his remains cut into nine pieces packed into two bags.
  • Anil Prashanth Kundar grew suspicious after receiving a cryptic text message following a July 20 call. Although Kunder's employer initially claimed he returned to India, passport records confirmed he remained in Sharjah.
  • Inside a parked car along the route toward Oman, Sharjah authorities reportedly discovered the remains. Anil met the Udupi Superintendent of Police on Monday requesting assistance after the family received the postmortem report.
  • Since the killing, Kunder's wife, Tina Kundar, and their minor son have been untraceable. "If his wife came to India, she must know what happened to her husband," Anil said, raising questions about their whereabouts.
  • Local police await official communication from Sharjah authorities to identify suspects and establish a motive. Meanwhile, the family awaits completion of legal formalities in the UAE to facilitate the body's repatriation to India.
