Former North Wales Police Detective Pleads Guilty to Sexual Offence
Lee Harshey-Jones admitted recording an image under clothing and also pleaded guilty to misconduct and justice charges, court records show.
Former North Wales Police detective Lee Harshey-Jones pleaded guilty on Wednesday at Chester Crown Court to voyeurism, perverting the course of justice, and corrupt use of police powers.
Charges stem from a June 11, 2026, incident in Colwyn Bay where Harshey-Jones admitted taking pictures beneath a child's clothing, a practice known as "upskirting."
Evidence revealed Harshey-Jones factory-reset his phone to conceal proof and accessed an internal police log; he has since resigned from the force.
Recorder Mark Ford KC granted conditional bail and ordered the former officer to register as a sex offender before his November 19 sentencing at Chester Crown Court.
Previously, Harshey-Jones served as lead investigator in the 2021 murder case of two-year-old Ethan Ives-Griffiths, whose grandparents Michael and Kerry Ives were convicted of abuse.
