Two Dead After Fires in Horror Night
Police say the fires are not being treated as suspicious as investigators probe two deaths and a third person’s serious injuries.
- Two separate house fires in Western Sydney and the NSW South Coast killed two people and left a third person seriously injured on Wednesday.
- Police responded to a home on Tuncoee Road in Villawood just after 6 p.m. Wednesday, where they located a house well alight and an elderly woman died in the blaze.
- A woman in her 70s was treated for smoke inhalation before dying in hospital, while another woman in her 50s was taken to Liverpool Hospital "as a precaution."
- Later that evening, South Coast Police District officers discovered a mobile home fire on Greens Road in Greenwell Point, 15km east of Nowra, where an elderly man died.
- Another man was treated for serious burns and smoke inhalation at the scene; police confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious and the investigation remains ongoing.
