Two pilots were killed and several homes were evacuated after the Apache crashed, while investigators said the cause remains unknown.

- Authorities evacuated several homes near the crash site and shut down Market Road 2843. An Army Fort Hood release confirmed the aircraft was an AH-64 Apache based at Fort Hood.
- "Our immediate priority is securing the site and supporting the initial response efforts," Brig. Gen. Ethan Diven, acting commanding general, said. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
- Although the fire is still burning, authorities reported no buildings or structures were damaged. Investigators have not yet determined where the helicopter was headed on Wednesday.
