Three Boys Charged over Alleged Rape of Teenage Girl
Police say the arrests followed raids across Sydney's south-west, and detectives seized electronic devices as evidence in the case.
On Wednesday, NSW Police arrested three 17-year-old boys following an investigation into the alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl at a home in the Macarthur region on Saturday.
One youth faces 11 charges including six counts of aggravated sexual assault in company and three counts of rape, while a second boy faces eight offences and the third faces two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company.
St Gregory's College Principal Matthew Brennan confirmed two of the accused students attend the Campbelltown school, describing the allegations as "abhorrent" and adding the college "has and will continue to co-operate fully with the police."
Detectives seized electronic devices from the boys' homes during Wednesday's raids, which will undergo forensic review; all three youths were refused bail and are set to appear before a children's court today.
Police confirmed these charges are not linked to the recent Scots College case, and support is available via the National Sexual Assault, Domestic Family Violence Counselling Service at 1800 737 732 or the Men's Referral Service at 1300 766 491.
