While the left and the right stand in a handkerchief in the aftermath of the 13 September parliamentary elections, Sweden remains suspended from the last ballots. Beyond the result, the election above all confirms the profound shift in the political debate around immigration, security and the future of the Swedish social model.
The election in Sweden is extremely tight. A voter group can now be decisive: non-Europeans. Because the left camp dominates in this group, the overall result could also tilt in its direction.
The Social Democrats obtained 38% of the votes of this group of voters, while the Left Party reached 21% and the Greens 11%.
