New findings regarding the Municipal Hospital in Miastko shed further light on the activities of the Spine neurosurgery company.
The hospital in Miastko suspended its surgical department ten times over the course of two years. During this time, patients were dismissed, and the neurosurgery company performed more cost-effective procedures, billed illegally. The National Health Fund (NFZ) was unaware of the suspension. Since the beginning of August, the facility, burdened with debt and penalties, has ceased operations.
The surgery department at the hospital in Miastko was formally suspended multiple times due to staffing shortages. However, at the same time, procedures were performed there on patients referred by neurosurgeons from Spine. According to WP findings, at least 458 such procedures were performed during the suspension periods in 2024 alone.
