The Czech Republic is expecting significant precipitation on Friday and Saturday night. A low pressure area will pass through our territory, bringing very strong thunderstorms and heavy rain. This combination can locally bring precipitation totals of around 70 millimeters. The most precipitation should fall in the belt from Šumava to the Krkonoše Mountains.

The Czech Republic will be hit by severe thunderstorms with torrential rain, hail and wind gusts of up to 90 kilometres per hour on Thursday and Friday. Meteorologists warn of local property damage, traffic disruptions and the risk of flooding in low-lying areas. The worst situation is expected on Friday, when the storms will reach most regions and should be even more intense. Calm weather should not be brought until the weekend.
