In a letter sent to the European Commission, the three countries stress that renewables are proven and competitive solutions that can be implemented on a large scale and within the deadlines.
Portugal, Spain and Luxembourg today called on the European Commission to create a "specific and forward-looking framework" for renewable energy by 2040, including an ambitious and realistic European target, in the face of the current energy crisis.
