BLOs allege they were pressured to sign, and say that two men, claiming to be from the Belagavi City Corporation, brought a bulk of Form-7 applications seeking deletion of only Muslim names.
There have been serious allegations of deletion of names of minority voters in Belgaum. An FIR has been registered against 25 people, including BJP leader Ravi Patil, in this regard. The BLO of Ward 12 has filed a complaint alleging that the names were illegally deleted using a bogus form, and the complaint was filed eight days after the incident.
