CM DK Shivakumar Alleges Plot to Delete 5-6 Million Voters in Karnataka

- On Oct 1, Karnataka Chief Minister Shivakumar called for a criminal investigation into the alleged misuse of Form 7 applications to delete voters' names during the ongoing SIR exercise.
- Alleging a state-wide conspiracy, Shivakumar claimed the BJP directed workers to remove names of minorities, the poor, and Dalits from electoral rolls.
- According to the Chief Minister, more than one crore names were removed during the SIR process, with notices issued to more than 50 lakh voters in constituencies held by Congress leaders including Minister Eshwar Khandre and Tanveer Sait.
- Shivakumar urged Booth Level Agents and voters to share information on fraudulent filings, pledging to present collected documents to the Election Commission.
- The Chief Minister emphasized his responsibility to protect voting rights, stating he feels he has 'failed' if deletions occur and insisting on comprehensive investigation.
