A group of government deputies called on the Argentine government to formally repeal the decree of 2021 that qualifies the Strait of Magellan as “shared space” between Argentina and Chile and, in that context, requested President José Antonio Kast to urgently address the repeal of the rule with his trans-Andean pair, Javier Milei, on his visit to La Moneda scheduled for Thursday.
The President will leave for Santiago this Thursday at 7 and will return to the country after noon. Subsequently, he will record a message for the Malvinas issue that will be broadcast at 21 p.m. by national channel.
The President reaffirmed Chile's total sovereignty over the Strait of Magellan and rejected the opposition's calls to demand the repeal of Decree No. 457 from the Argentine president, Javier Milei, during his next visit to the country.
