Saints Guard Dillon Radunz Has Torn Ligaments, Defensive End Cam Jordan Has a Hamstring Injury
Radunz is expected to need season-ending knee surgery, while Jordan could miss the start of the season after hurting his hamstring in practice.
The New Orleans Saints are managing injuries to guard Dillon Radunz and defensive end Cameron Jordan, coach Kellen Moore announced. Radunz suffered a torn ACL during practice on Saturday, while Jordan sustained a hamstring injury last Thursday.
Radunz, 28, now faces potential season-ending surgery after his second career ACL tear. The guard started 10 games for New Orleans last season, earning a two-year extension before this setback during his sixth NFL campaign.
Though excused from Saturday's session to attend Drew Brees' Pro Football Hall induction, Jordan sustained the hamstring injury last Thursday. Veteran defensive end Jordan has missed only one injury-related game in his career.
Moore stated Jordan will "miss a little bit of time," adding, "It could possibly get into the season, but you never know." Medical staff will reevaluate the veteran's status every few days.
The Saints maintain confidence in their defensive line depth, which features Chase Young, Carl Granderson, Tyree Wilson, and Anfernee Jennings. Moore noted the team will utilize multiple players while evaluating options throughout remaining training camp.
The Saints' deputy guard, Dillon Radunz, broke a knee ligament and veteran defensive wing Cameron Jordan missed training on Sunday due to an injury to the cord tendon, coach Kellen Moore reported.
