Russia Plans Large-Scale Prison Expansion Across Occupied Kherson
Russia is planning to construct seven massive prison complexes designed to house more than 20,000 individuals across multi-regime colonies and pre-trial detention centers, with one facility set to be located in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine's Kherson region, according to Babel on September 16.

Apart from occupied Kherson Oblast, Russia plans to build the complexes in Kaluga, Astrakhan, and Tyumen oblasts, Buryatia, and Zabaykalsky Krai, while the first is expected to open in Tatarstan by 2030.
