Robert Pattinson Thinks It Would Be 'Tough' to Put His Batman Into James Gunn's DC Universe
Pattinson said his grounded Bruce Wayne is tied to a specific tone and long shoots, though he did not rule out a future crossover.
- In an interview with LADbible, Robert Pattinson discussed the difficulty of integrating his dark version of the Caped Crusader into James Gunn's DCU, noting it would be "tough to have this version of Bruce outside of that world."
- Shooting the character takes an intense toll on the actor. Pattinson explained, "I mean, just for eight months in the dark, and you literally have no conception of being connected to anything in the world."
- Pattinson joked that his Batman would make Skyler Gisondo's Olsen in Superman look "more serious," while noting Superman was filmed in Atlanta and his darker Gotham was shot at a studio in Watford.
- Although Pattinson's Batman remains separate, James Gunn's DCU has plans for its own version of the character, teased in the animated series Creature Commandos and HBO Max's Lanterns.
- Pattinson will soon return to the role in The Batman Part II, a sequel to Matt Reeves's 2022 blockbuster scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 18, 2028.
