Landslide Hits Campbell River Condo Complex, Cleanup Underway
Firefighters assessed the site after the slide, and the city said cleanup is underway while it monitors the slope and posts updates.
Fire crews responded to a landslide at 350 South Island Highway in Campbell River at approximately 6 a.m. on Oct. 2, attending the site to assess the situation.
Previous landslides in Campbell River forced evacuations at 738 and 758 South Island Highway more than three years ago. In late 2025, crews addressed falling rocks near Rotary Beach.
No injuries have been reported following the incident, and The City confirmed that condominium residents did not require evacuation.
Cleanup of the affected area is currently underway, focusing primarily on the parking area adjacent to the slope. The City shared details via Campbell River Facebook.
The City will continue to monitor the site, and further assessment of the slope will be conducted. Updates will be posted to the City website as they become available.
