UMBC Poll: Moore Leads Cox by 27 Points in Maryland Governor's Race
The UMBC survey of 776 likely voters also found 79% are enthusiastic about voting and Moore’s supporters are more firmly committed.
On Tuesday, a new poll from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County's Institute of Politics showed Democratic Gov. Wes Moore leading Republican Dan Cox 51% to 24% among likely voters.
The UMBC Poll surveyed 776 likely Maryland voters from Sept. 22 through Sept. 27, finding that 84% of Moore supporters are set on their choice compared with 74% of Cox supporters.
Voters expressed critical views of both parties, with 71% saying the Maryland Republican Party is controlled by special interests or big donors, while 59% said the same of the Maryland Democratic Party.
Enthusiasm for the election remains high, with 79% of likely voters saying they are "very or somewhat" enthusiastic about voting, and 35% planning to vote in person on Election Day.
The institute plans to release additional poll results Wednesday and Thursday as interest in the November 3 election remains high among Maryland voters.
