Padres Win 4-3 in 11 Innings to Sweep MLB-Leading Brewers
Luis Campusano drove in the winning run after San Diego tied the game in the 11th and improved to 65-57.
On Wednesday, the San Diego Padres defeated the MLB-leading Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in 11 innings, completing a three-game sweep at Petco Park.
San Diego rallied in the eighth inning as Fernando Tatis Jr. scored on an infield single by Jake Cronenworth, tying the game at 2 and forcing extra innings.
In the 11th inning, Gary Sanchez drove in a go-ahead run for the Brewers, but Jackson Merrill tied it with a sacrifice fly before Luis Campusano hit the walk-off single scoring Sun-Mung Song.
The win moves San Diego to 65-57, placing the team in the National League's second wild-card spot for the first time since June 27.
Starting Thursday, the team begins a four-game series in Los Angeles, where Brewers LHP Shane Drohan is scheduled to start against Dodgers RHP Roki Sasaki.
