Packers RB Jacobs Sidelined by Injury
Trey Dean III, a former Jets practice-squad defensive back, joins Green Bay after winning Super Bowl LVIII with Kansas City, according to Jordan Schultz.
The Green Bay Packers signed undrafted free agent Trey Dean III to bolster secondary depth, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Dean, a former University of Florida standout, spent the 2023 season on the New York Jets' practice squad before winning Super Bowl LVIII with the Kansas City Chiefs and a USFL championship.
Despite earning SEC-All Freshman-Team honors at Florida, Dean went undrafted in 2023 but later won Shrine Bowl defensive MVP honors after an interception performance.
The 26-year-old defensive back has yet to play a regular-season snap, having split time between three NFL practice squads before joining Green Bay.
This addition comes as Green Bay prepares for Thursday's preseason opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers, while head coach Matt LaFleur manages roster health with running back Josh Jacobs sidelined by a groin injury.
