- Locals claimed the cook allegedly mistook detergent powder for salt, which students had complained lacked from the food; soon after eating, several students complained of dizziness and began vomiting.
- Principal Shailendra Kumar Singh stated the meal was supplied by an NGO as per prescribed menu; students received initial first aid at the school before being shifted to Sadar Hospital when their condition failed to improve.
- Bihar Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar and Civil Surgeon Jay Prakash Singh visited the hospital to assess the students, and officials confirmed all children are currently out of danger.
- Kumar announced a detailed inquiry will be conducted to ascertain how the alleged lapse occurred in the preparation and serving of the mid-day meal.
