The Austrian-wide civil protection day brought a positive result on Saturday in Tyrol. According to the Land Tirol 1022 of the 1025 sirens worked perfectly. Also the population warning system AT-Alert was tested twice successfully.
On Saturday it was loud throughout Styria: in the annual civil protection test alarm, 1,278 sirens had to show whether they would work in an emergency. The result is clear, only six plants failed.
179 out of a total of 180 sirens in Vienna did not work during the test on Saturday. According to the City of Vienna, other channels for warning also worked without a problem.
