One in five early holiday bookers lose out as prices fall
The survey found 20% of early planners later saw the same flights or hotels cheaper, and 10% lost money changing rigid bookings.
A study of 2,000 adults found that spontaneous Type B travelers often secure better deals than meticulous Type A planners who research trips weeks in advance.
Researchers explored personality types, finding 54 per cent identify as Type A and 31 per cent as Type B, with Type A preferring meticulous planning while Type B embraces spontaneity.
Data shows 20 per cent of Type A travelers later spotted their exact flight or hotel available for less, while 10 per cent lost money amending rigid bookings when plans changed.
Zoe Fidler, from the holiday firm, called Type B travelers "the savviest bookers in the game," noting that 36 per cent are more likely to stumble across hidden gems.
The holiday firm launched the "Travel Bgents" platform to reward Type B bookers with extra discounts, positioning spontaneous travel as a strategic advantage in the booking market.
