Germany to Send New Air Defense Packages to Ukraine as Russia Escalates Drone Attacks
Germany has been one of Ukraine’s key air defense supporters since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, supplying systems including Patriot and IRIS-T.
Germany will increase military aid to Ukraine in response to the drone attack on Leipzig airport on August 4, in which two men with ties to Russia are suspected. Citing sources in German government circles, the local n-tv station reported that the aid will include anti-aircraft missiles and attack drones.
