Mount Anak Krakatau is currently at Level III, or Alert, and has been experiencing continued eruptive activity since Friday, September 4, 2026, at 11:07 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time). Anak Krakatau was observed spewing lava fountains at night and generating one eruption earthquake with an amplitude of 70 millimeters and a duration of 21,600 seconds.

Mount Anak Krakatau has been erupting continuously since 11:07 PM WIB (Western Indonesian Time), producing lava fountains. The Center for Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation (PVMBG) has prohibited activities within a 3-kilometer radius.
