Meta settlement reached: Ohio to receive over $300 million
Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson announced Wednesday the $17.1 billion settlement, which requires Meta, the technology company owned by Mark Zuckerberg, to put safety measures in place to protect youth on their social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram.
For Bastien Le Querrec, a lawyer at La Quadrature du Net, the agreement reached between Meta and dozens of US states on the addictive nature of Facebook and instagram does not in any way call into question the economic model of the social media giant.
