Puerto Rico agreed on Wednesday to receive about $125 million from Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, for provoking the addiction of minors to their social networks, according to the secretary of the Department of Justice of the archipelago, Lourdes L. Gómez.
Several American states and territories agreed on Wednesday to a historic friendly deal with the giant.
The agreement also obliges the company to implement changes to Instagram and Facebook to increase protections aimed at children and adolescents
