Mercedes Mone Reflects On Attending AEW All In 2023, Says She Was In Talks With WWE - Wrestling Inc.
Moné said therapy helped her move past the injury that sidelined her for about a year and said she nearly re-signed with WWE before joining AEW.
Mercedes Mone revealed she continued contract talks with WWE throughout 2023 while attending All London at Wembley Stadium, ultimately deciding "AEW WAS THE PLACE FOR ME" after witnessing the event as a fan.
Mone admitted she utilized extensive therapy to stop blaming Willow Nightingale for a serious ankle injury suffered during their 2023 match, which sidelined her for roughly a year.
During her 2023 visit to Wembley Stadium, Mone met Tony backstage and watched from box seats, noting "I never really got the opportunity to sit in the crowd and just be a fan at WrestleMania."
Following her Owen Hart Tournament victory, Mone is scheduled to challenge Willow Nightingale for the AEW Women World Championship at All at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 30.
This matchup marks a professional evolution from her time as Sasha Banks in WWE, with more than 80,000 fans expected to witness Mone's continued role in the AEW roster.
